can i connect my HD camcorder employing HDMI cable to my laptop?

Laptop screens do not accept HDMI in, so you cannot use that screen as an input, the HDMI port on your laptop is an output only, so it can display on HDTVs and other Computer monitors only.
You’ll want one more monitor or HDTV to see your camcorder footage.
Nonetheless, you can transfer the footage to your laptop and view it as a film file

No, the only way is described in your hand book, Cannot inform you how to do it due to the fact you don’t give any data on your camcorder.
HDD and flash drive camcorders copy video to your pc through USB, tape capture by way of Firewire, Mini-dvd spot DVD in you personal computers drive and copy the video files across.
