Camcorder tripod?
Hi there,
I recently bought a tripod for my Canon DC40 camcorder but stupidly I can’t seem to figure out how to sit my camcorder on it effectively, there are two holes on the back of my camcorder and two metal pieces on the tripod (one particular looks like a screw)…if I attempt “screwing” it on it does not seem very secure, and pushing it on does not seem to function either, can an individual assist? thanks.

the mount on the camcorder has to be on the bottom, not the back. there should be a big hole about 1/four inch size, which is for the screw, the other is a little hole for alignment. You do not twist the camcorder to get it on the tripod. as an alternative you set the camcorder on the tripod head and the turn the screw.
that really should do it. most camcorders are so small now that quite typically you cannot adjust tape or battery whilst mounted on the tripod.

Your very first answer is a good 1 unless your tripod has what is referred to as a speedy release plate. If you cannot get to the base of the screw on the tripod head, you have probably got a fast release plate, and you will need to eliminate the plate from the tripod as a 1st step. Then, screw the plate onto your camcorder, and lastly, slide the plate back into place on the tripod. Verify to be sure it locks securely back on the tripod ahead of letting go, or your camcorder might take a dive.
Any comments?
