Should I sue for camcorder repairs?
I went to a camera shop to purchase a mount piece for my tripod. (The peice was missing). The employee put 1 on my tripod and said it fit so I bought it. I took it home and place my camcorder on tripod with the mount peice. The camcorder fell and broke (costing me about $ 1000 to repair). The mount peice simply popped off the tripod with my camcorder nonetheless attached. I contacted the organization that sold me the mount peice and explained that their employee sold me a peice that didn’t match correct which induced the camcorder to fall. Their client service agent said $ 1000 seemed a bit substantial for a repair and supplied me only $ 300 to cover all my fees. (I have all my receipts). I explained that even the manager at their retailer said personnel are not suppose to attempt to match mount peices to tripods.
Any advise about this topic would be appreciated. I have thought to be filing at modest claims court but do not know if I would win or not?

consider about how much time and work it would take to go to court. is it worth it?

Yes. They’ll possibly just spend you off to shut you up anyhow.
