saying “purchase a charger” isnt helpfull how do you charge a camcorder’s battery like that with no the proper charger? some thing effective utilizing househeld items would be wonderful.

But “buy a charger” is the only acceptable response… In the box with the Canon FS100, there was an AC adapter. When you connect the AC adapter to the camcorder’s DC-in jack, the FS100′s battery will charge – when the FS100 energy/mode manage is in the off position.
If you do not have that AC adapter or want to charge a battery when it is not in the camcorder, acquiring a charger that functions with the +/- electrical power pin-out on the battery is about all you can do. There is absolutely nothing sitting all around most folks houses that can be made into a safe, UL authorized, charger for that camcorder’s battery.
